Welcome!

Okay ... So what if I've never hosted a knit-a-long before? lol ... I've been wanting to do the Monkey sock pattern from the Winter 2006 issue of Knitty ... So why not start a knit-a-long?

Please bear with me as I try to get this together ...

If you would like to join the KAL, please leave a comment here ... And if anyone would be interested in helping me out ... I'd appreciate it!

Also ... if anyone is capable of making a button for the KAL ... that would be much appreciated, also!

Perfect timing! I just cast on today. Count me in (but don't look at me for a button: I'm hopeless with those).

Okay, considering I just frogged my monkey sock, I'm game. My poor boyfriend will probably pass out as he is a little tired of watching me frog every project I start. :(

Okay, I'm game too. I just went through my stash and found the perfect yarn. Although with my stash it would be hard not to if you know what I mean.

Margie said...

I'm on! I think I have some Fleece Artist that will work well. Janet, I have the same stash problem (afvantage?) that you do.

I'll play. I just bought some yarn in summer colors. About time I made myself a pair of socks. What's one more pair OTNs. :-)

I plan on starting this sock sometime in the next week or two, as soon as I finish the modified Lombard Street socks I am knitting. Sign me up please!

Sounds good. I just finished my first and loved the pattern so I can do another! Sign me up.

Okay, you can count me in on this one. That pattern is lovely.
Is there a start and end date?

I'm in! I love the look of these but haven't had the confidence to start them. With a group, I think I can do it. Thanks!!

Count me in. I've got several hanks that would work perfectly....just have to decide which to use. :)

I would love to join in - sounds like fun!!! I do have 3 pair of socks going right now - but have the needles for one more:) I've just learned the magic loop method and loving it - so that's what I'll use for the Monkey KAL.

Hi, I'm midway through my second sock in Cherry Tree Hill Supersock. I love this pattern and I'm glad for a knitalong!

I'd like to join in, too. I've been wanting to make these, but I have a size 11 foot and I'd prefer to do them toe-up. I love all of the socks Cookie designs, I just wish she'd give options for bigger sizes. It's going to take a little figuring to make this sock fit my big old wedge foot, but I'm going to give it a try.

Count me in! I'll have a peek through my stash...but a new KAL might give me a reason to have to buy more yarn...darn! :)

Count me in, too. I've been following all the comments and finally went to look at the pattern. I'll have to do a little stash diving, but I think I'll be okay.

I would be interested in joining in as well. The pattern is georgous. Let me know what else I need to do? Thanks.

OK, I'll try it - those look like lovely sox - but I may be slow as I'm doing SFS, sox for a friend, sox for my grandson, & I work FULL time, too.
But I think I have some nice yarn for them.

I love the pattern Monkey sock, so this is a wonderful chance to do it with friends. I am very excited about working with this group. Thanks for doing it and we all will learn together. It looks like a lot people feel the same way, Deb

I would love to make the monkey socks too. Right now I'm making kilt socks for my husband, but I can take a break from those!

I just started working on a pair of monkey socks. I would love to join the KAL if it's still open.

I figure this KAL is closed, but I wanted to say hi. I've never done a KAL before, but I was listening to the Socksinthecity Podcast and she mentioned that there was a Monkey sock KAL. I should be finishing up my first Monkey sock soon. This will be second pair of knitted socks ever. It's fun!!!

Can I still join? I'm knitting monkeys with Lorna's Laces Aslan colorway.

So I'm a late bloomer, but I am just about to start these puppies (just waiting on my yarn).

So I'm a little slow on the upkeep, I just found this blog and am beyond wicked excited about it. These will be my second socks ever and my first on tiny needles. Hoping to join for the moral support if nothing else.
